As the group move through the city the next day they hear a large amount of rumours flying around.
- The Snake Clan are in uproar
- The Snake clan are having an emergency clan gathering
- A merchants caravan that should have arrived from the north is three days late.
- No travellers are returning from the north trail.
When the group go to see Wei Farimh he states that the rumours about the merchant caravan are true but, to avoid a panic, the Royal court are not sending soldiers to look, instead Wei Farimh is sending them. The trio agree and head to fid horses for those that need them.
Whilst in the market place an old lady approches Storm asking after Master Jacques who she spoke to at the district mayor's party. She pleads that they find her grandson who has left for the north. The rumours have been making her nervous. When they agree to held her in his stead she hands them her husband's medallion to identify them to the boy who is called Peter.
Adoni also recieves a letter from the mistress of the Blossoming Lotus stating that they are now even. This leads Adoni to believe the she ordered the theft of goods from their house. Organising security for the compound and telling Rendal, who has quite happily moved into the compound, to keep an eye out.
The Dawrven bard reappears asking lots of random questions from the group stating she has decided to make an epic ballard about them and their continuing adventures. Adoni humours her but Kasha & Breeze say not a word.
Leaving the city the next day the trip is mostly eventless until just before reaching the first large village to the North. There they are attacked by bandits though they quickly beat them off.
Later on entering the village they ponder the quietness of the area. There are no birds out and not a single voice can be heard. The village seems deserted.
They soon discover why when they reach the village hall. The door has been baricaded fromt eh outside. A strange roaring fills the air and as Storm moves to open the door Breeze realises what it is. Diving for Storm he manages to knock her from the path of a backdraft caused by the flames withing the building. Moving hesitantly into the hall they find evidence of major violence on all the bodies within. Men, Women and children; none were spared. The fire makes the building unstable however and the group decide not to spend more time within than necessary.
Searching around they find wheel tracks that indicate that a wagon left the village after the massacre. Breeze speculates that the group could be facing an angry fire elemental spirit.
Following the trail the group find a second village in much the same state. Kasha locates a crudely drawn map in the ashes that indicates a shrine by Dragon Mountain. The wheel tracks head in that direction. Considering their options they follow. Kasha however turns back briefly to make sure that the bandits are not in pursuit, telling the group that she will meet them there.
