Day 4 ~ Skye

The troops mentioned that they were going to pick up supplies and would be appreciate any help we would give should any trouble occur. Aid I would give gladly.

The roads are quiet and it reminds me of home. Noone wants to travel during a war. There are more travellers by midday as we reach the first large city on our journey, the city of the gods. Though it seems large there are few people around its walls. We are staying at a tavern near the walls. Leon is again playing his guitar and the melody is haunting. Ren and Orana tell me before they retire that this is where the largest magical university. It has been sieged many times but not once have the walls breached. My curiosity is peaked for I have never seen another university but my own.

It is the largest building within these walls so is easy to find. I followed the entrance corridor until I reached a room with the door ajar. The professor within wass so like Rinterin, they both find their students tiring. He seemed a nice man though and chatted pleasantly with me for a while. I offered him what aid I could should I pass this way again then left him to get what sleep he could.

I was not the only one wandering for I met Leon at the door of the tavern. He claimed to have seen shadows in the sky. The tavern owner and I went with him to the walls to see what he seen. Corus could be seen in the distance. Between the two cities flocks of birds flew. I may not know much of nature but even I knew their flight was not natural. The tavern owner calmed us though as told us of the wild mages, who can control animals, that worked within the country taking messages for the king. It is hard to worry when he is so open about it.

Day 5 ~ Skye

Snite was up early exploring but appeared in time to leave. The troops talked more openly with us as we covered the final leg of the journey. The capital is the training ground of the nobles and we did not stop until we reached it. There were hovels outside the main walls though once we entered the city the buildings soon became richer.

It seemed that we made a great impression with our unexpected appearance in this land for the king has asked for our presence as soon as night falls. Though his mage has asked to speak to us first. I took out the items that I have carried for Ren and asked Snite to look over them. His knowledge of magic is greater than mine and I value his words. It is unfortunate that he is unable to help me with all that I carry.

His work room was all I thought it would be. There is too much on every surface and all aroung the room items are littered with reports. When told of the chaos stone he attempted to locate it but the map that was the focus of the spell went up in flames. He was however able to identify the last of the items in my care.

Leaving us we were found by his wife who seemed at first harsh but I think she was only protecting the man she loves. Her opinon of us is coloured by how we are with our animals but I cannot hold it against her. She seems so focused on what she does. Snite seemed to take ill for a moment before she entered but was better when we left to meet the king.

The meeting with the king was interesting. His champion was as trusting of us as could be expected. Fortunately Orana did not disgrace herself as much as she could have. Alana, the champion was called and I find her likable for all her bluster.

The king it seems will set us tasks to earn the stones. Though in truth I had not envisioned us taking them from him. The first is to identify a friend of his, a so called "King of Thieves" though he holds that title no more. Our deadline is two weeks and I hope we succeed. There is afterall a first time for everything as he has never been found that quickly.

Day 6 early morning ~ Skye

So our task is to start sooner than expected. We have been given a guide to lead us to Pirates Swoop. His name is Bob. He did give me aid in finding an armourer before we left. I traded in the armour that none of us can wear for something more suitable for the dangers ahead. The armourer tald me of the colours used to denote the different guards. Red for the Barony, Blue for the king and Green for the riders.
