The group learn from court rumours that the bodyguard for Iontu is called Retri Vorn. They also learn that Iontu mostly stays in his home. Though he does conduct many a social meeting during the evenings.
The group decide to send Wu Chan Li to talk to Tren whilst Decious searches his rooms for information on the rings.
The group split up again, with Adoni and Kid going to talk to Retri Vorn finding where he is through interogating random servants. They head off a bar that they have been told has a bad reputation.
Decious slipped into the mages room and after checking the maps and the desk, he started to read some of the scrolls. He found designs for a fake fireball to use in a theatre, pictures and runes refering to wands, and a magically sealed scroll. Aquiring this scroll he slipped back out of the room. Wu Chan Li who has been following the weather recently notices that the sky has cleared and that the moon will soon be full.
Adoni and Kid walk into the bar and spot the man they are looking for. Hatching a quick plan Kid buys 3 beers and Adoni then buys 16 casting purify food and drink on them. After drinking a few of these non-alcoholic beers he starts acting drunk. Adoni then buys Retri a drink and convinces Kid to go to him, as he is poor company. Kid approaches and tries to talk to Retri but learns very little as the man does not really wish to speak. In the end he manages to offend Vaughn and only swift spellcasting by Adoni prevents a full grown fight. The two flee deactivating the spell when they have a clear headstart.
Storm takes her evening meal with Serv at his request and during the meal he emphasises again that he never changes his opinions. He is also firm about voting for Mion because he thinks she was the better choice, something he has been aware of for a long time. She also learnt that if needs be Dran Ienel can overrule the ministers vote, but rarely does. He tends to work closely with Erichiro Gramin, and likes Suri Kama, who he thought would make a fine minister from the start. He does not like Tren Verishi, as he believes him to be too impressionable. Any official papers for the election are kept in Erichiro's office, and may only be submitted by the applicant or their personal scribe.
During the night Kid returned to the bar and followed a suspicious figure that leaves the place. He tries to catch him but loses the man in the forest. The next morning Decious goes hunting after the tracks and finds that the wolves he had followed before converge on the tracks of the human.
Adoni and Kid returned to the court and found that Erichiro's scribe is not at work. Interrogating court officials they learn that he where he lives.
Storm and Wu Chan Li learn from Tren that the rings are linked to the wearer. Basically that they will only seal the scrolls if the true wearer seals it.
Decious still following the wolf tracks finds blood trails and sets off after them.
Adoni and Kid find the house empty and question a neighbour who states she thought that he was at court. When she learns that he is missing they search the house picking up a sock to give Book a scent to follow. They traced him into the woods past a large mansion.
Decious find a corpse that is being chewed on by a small dog. Talking to it he learns that the the body had already been dead when the dog found it. Adoni and Kid show up and Book chases the dog away so that Decious can examine the wounds. A brief inspection shows them to be claw marks. After aquiring a piece of grey hair from the corpse Adoni sends him to the mansion to take word and shortly after returning, the guards come led by Vorn. Decious queried how easily Vorn had found where they were but this was explained away by them following the tracks. The guards confirmed that the body was Erichiro's Scribe and dismiss the act as that of local creature, unfortunate but not something to worry about.
Kid and Decious decide independantly to go check out the mansion that Retri Vorn came from. Though Kid gained entry to the building when he exited the site and met up with Decious he stated that he had not found anything of interest within. He then stubbornly returns to court.
