Forbidden magics

After the last Great War and the rise of the pacifistic view within the government of Tintaria a new law was passed known commonly as the Writ of Flames. Within this document a large number of spells (the majority of them from the Fire school) were forbidden due to their aggressive nature. Spells that were outright combat spells were no longer taught in any of the main magic schools of Tintaria and even those that had a direct non-combat application were frowned upon when of a dual nature.

Many schools now have lost their knowledge of these spells and fire aligned shugenja are rare. This is due to the mistrust and hostility with which the majority of people view these individuals.

Only two major exceptions apply to this, the school of the Phoenix clan and the military.
