Adoni, Storm and Breeze give what information they have to Wei Farimh who is not well impressed by what they have done. However he thanks them for their work and asks that they return the next day once he has had time to talk to his superiors.
Breeze, who has been wary of Wei Farimh from the start does his best to find out more about him. However needing a Wu Jen to guide him with the Elemental Ring he accepts Wei Farimh's help and heads of on a lone quest at the Wu Jen's request.
Taking time to take stock of what has happened Adoni soon realises that Rendal and the box to which he was tied has vanished from the house. As he is dealing with this find a knock is heard at the door and Decious appears at the door having been sent by Finil. He presents his letter to Adoni who sends him to the kitchen as he tries to find some parchment. Writing a letter to the Madame of the Blossoming Lotus Adoni heads to the door to find a messenger only to find a tall Elven man in expensive robes waiting outside. Introducing himself as Wu Chan Li he explains that he was sent by Wei Farimh who had requested their presence the next day. Upon seeing him, Storm gets into a panic as she recognises his high rank. Entertaining the two in the kitchen Adoni quickly gets a reply from the Madame. Deciding it was time to shop for some supplies he takes advantage of Wu Chan Li by inviting him along in the hope that he will get a discount.
Storm takes Decious to an Alchemist that she is apprenticed with and continues her training. Decious however does not make a good impression on the man who eventually throws him out.
Adoni finds a scroll maker called Zerana Erun of the Beech Clan who happily supplies him with spell scrolls when his first idea of a wand fails.
When they return to their complex they find the dwarven bard Brinelle waiting for them. SHe states she has business with Adoni. After delivering her message Adoni hares off through town with Storm and Wu Chan Li in pursuit until he reaches his mother's home. She looks very surprised to see him but agrees to moving in with the group when Adoni talks to her briefly.
Decious, who remained in the Complex, is the only one to see Brinelle leave.
The next day the group meet up with Wei Farimh who explains that Wu Chan Li is there to allow the group access to the higher ranking families. He also points out the Snake Clan wish to speak to Adoni and Storm. Wei Farimh eyes Decious suspiciously but hires him to work with the group. He explains that he needs them to go visit a border town near Fereheen that they fear might have been infiltrated by Fereheen spies.
Agreeing that they need to plan well for their trip the group split to find supplies and Adoni and Storm go head to the Snake Clan while Decious heads to the library to find Sue Mei in the hope of getting a good map of the route to the town.
Adoni's and Storm's reception at the Snake complex is chilly to say the least. The clan is pleased to see that they are willing to try to rectify their mistake but warn that they will call blood debt should they fail. They present the group with an old notebook compiled by the ancestor that defeated the demon last time it roamed the country. Lei Orh head of the Red Snake agrees to be their point of contact within the clan in future.
Taking their leave the group organise their purchases and prepare for departure the very next morning.
