Adoni makes some effort to find Brinelle before they leave the city but with not much luck. Resigned he gathers his things and the group set off for Bei Dong Jing using the map that Decious aquired.
The group managed to make good time on the route but nearing the first town on the road they notice a small halfing trying to creep up on them. Storm upon reading his surface thoughts tell them he is hungry and wants their coin for food. In an effort to resolve this peacefully Adoni throws several suggestion and hold person spells at him but much to his surprise the halfling shrugs them all off.
Attacking Adoni with a small branch the halfling tries to get his money. Decious and Storm aid Adoni in fending him off. Wu Chan Li, aware that his aid is not needed, is the only one to notice the greenclad halfling riding up to them on a donkey. The halfing introduces herself as Sachi Maeryn and ask if he is Wu Chan Li for she has been sent by Wei Farimh to aid them on their journey.
With the aid of a ball of flame the hungry halfling is finally subdued. Unable to bring himself to allow the halfling's death Adoni rouses him and, with Decious keeping a sword at the halflings throat, offers him some food. Bowing his head the halfling accepts the food stating that he is now life debted to Adoni. Accepting the pledge Adoni then introduces the party to the halfling who states that he is known as Kid.
Reaching Xiaohua by nightfall the group find an inn to stay the night. Adoni decides to clothe and equip Kid but he refuses to accept the items without working for them. However upon hearing of the quest that comes with the cursed swords that Adoni bears he happily accepts one of them as his own.
During the evening Adoni takes the time to study the book that Snake Clan gave him. It turns out to be Mei Rean's Diary.
The next day they continue their journey. During most of the day their journey borders the Forest of Spirits. By night fall they reach the northern reaches of the forest and make camp. Kid takes the opportunity to train with his new weapons. Meanwhile Sachi wanders into the woods whilst Decious stands guard. It is some time later when the three hear noises in the trees and Decious spots what seems to be a ghost moving through the trees.
The alarm spell Decious set sounds through the camp waking all but Wu Chan Li from their sleep and the ghost approches them. Kid tries to rush him wanting to defend the camp. However his weak state and his lack of sleep make him clumsy allowing the ethereal elf to side step his blows. Adoni calms them both and asks the elf his purpose. He explains that he is simply guarding the forest as the elves always do. He takes the time to talk to both Adoni and Storm before stating that he will inform his men that the north edge is protected tonight. He fades into the woods and the group call it a night.
The next day the group continue on the journey but preoccupied with the message Brinelle gave him and the map he was given Adoni leads the group to the mountains away from the path to Bei Dong Jing. Along the way they pass through farmland and eventually are met by a samurai of the Bear Clan. Eikre who spots the man's orcish heritage is wary around him but after some niceties he allows them to move on.
They do not go much further when they need to stop for the night. As morning arrives Adoni gets a familiar itch down his spine. After much thought he realises that he can feel the Ethereal Elf city to which he became linked. Confused he decides to investigate. The group make their way up the mountain to a cave in the cliffs. Within is a portal that leads to the Ethereal Elves. The elves are ready for them and until Storm and Adoni introduce themselves do not believe they are friendly. Adoni talks to the Ethereal Law Sword captain and makes a deal with him that will allow the group to use the Elves portals to reach Bei Dong Jing.
Leaving them for now the group make their way to the top of the mountain range where, in a bowl shaped area, they find Brinelle waiting for them. She hands Adoni a letter and after reading it he stalks off back to the Ethereal Elven portal. They stay the night within the city before taking a portal that lands them a half days ride from Bei Dong Jing.

"What are we doing?" ~ Kid wanting to know their mission. "Ugh, Personal issues." ~ Adoni distracted by other things "That's got to be the worst description of an official mission ever!" ~ DM shaking her head.
"Snore." ~ Wu Chan Li underlining his response to the Alarm spell.
"If you are found with more than two weapons, you will be fined and possibly con-fined." DM explaining the weapon licence rules of Tintar
