Eager to ensure that they were prepared for what was to come the characters spent most of the week researching. Adoni and Storm spend the majority of the first week within the confines of the Tintar Great Library, whilst Breeze pounds the streets.

Making the aquaintance of Sue Mei of the Willow Clan in the library Adoni and Storm quickly discover information of interest to them.

Storm finds reference to the Elemental Rings while Adoni discovers the meaning of the cat statue she picked up. Also with Sue Mei's help they locate information on the noble woman that they are to find.

Stopping of at Tasha Itune's compound they also find out where the woman's house lies.

Meanwhile Breeze has located the temple where Baram Ide's killer has been buried. Entering the cremation area he locates in the ashes a small coin. The others on seeing it confirm that it is in fact from Fereheen just like the one they were given by Wei Farimh.

Setting a watch on the noble woman's house they quickly discover that she has a very structured routine. When invited out she sends her servants away just before she leaves her home. Then taking her carriage she herself sets of leaving the house with no visible guards.

Having found out from a young man, who tries to convince Storm to go as his date, that there is a party on the next night the group make their plans. Kasha reluctantly agrees to go to the party to make sure the woman does not return too soon.

Watching the carriage leave the trio carefully make their way into the building. Creeping upstairs they discover that the place does have some magical wards. Moving carefully around them they enter the woman's office. A strong metallic taste filled the air and following their nose they enter the bedroom. The sight that befalls them is unpleasant to say the least. The body that lies on the bed has been eviscerated. Large gashes along the entire body also make it hard to identify who the person was.

The group are just contemplating this when a small man enters the office with a large burly guard behind him. Deciding honesty, after a fashion, is the best policy they make no move the run. The small man examines the body and declares that it is the noble woman who owns the house. Listening to the trios comments he agrees that they are unlikely to be the killers though they probably entered the house not long after the killer left. He does however wonder what they are doing within the building in the first place, pointing out that they tripped an alarm spell on entering.

Using some quick thinking Adoni presents the man with one of the letters that Wei Farimh gave them before leaving for Venutia. Reading it the man asks if there is anything that he can help them with in their enquires into the dragon cult.

Mentioning that all they are looking for are some letters he agrees to pass them to the trio should he find them within his crime scene. However they find them in a small locked box in the office and taking their leave of the man and guard they leave the building behind.

Managing to unlock the box the group decide to examine the letters. Breeze reads the most recent letter and falls foul of a spell hidden within the script. As he remains frozen in time Adoni and Storm find out from Rendal that someone broke into the compound while they were away.

Adoni is surprised to find that it is his things that have been taken including the geisha outfit from the blossoming lotus and the Cat statue. Nothing else has been touched.

When Breeze is freed the group inform Wei Farimh of their findings and hand over the letters. He thanks them and asks them to return later the next day.
